We’ve all been there; you’re out at the bachelorette party getting drinks with a big group of girls and then the bill comes. Half the group has cash, while the other half has credit cards. The waitress comes over and will only take two out of the five credit cards at the table. It becomes a complicated mess where the organizer of the group winds up paying for the whole table, while the others owe her money. Well, that problem is now easy as pie to solve. Here are five great apps that will make splitting the bill as easy as writing an email.
Splitwise
Splitwise makes it easy to keep tabs on who owes who for what from that great girls trip you took a week ago. It’s the ideal app for those of you who are frequently sharing expenses with someone. When it’s time to pay up, a simple PayPal transfer is all it takes to settle the debt. This free app is available on iPhone & Android.
Billr
Love to eat out with friends and have an iPhone to boot? Then this could be the app for you. Billr will calculate what everyone owes for their meal and split shared items, like appetizers and wine. The app will also add in the tax, tip and even send a copy of the split bill to the rest of the group by text or email. Unlike Splitwize, Billr is 99 cents in the iTunes store.
Divvy
At 99 cents, Divvy will make splitting the bill child’s play. All you need to do is snap a photo of your receipt, drag each item to the person who’ll be paying for it and your done. The app will automatically add the tax and tip to each person’s portion of the bill.
SpotMe
Remember when you went out with Jane last week, and she paid for all her drinks, but you forgot to pay her back. With SpotMe that problem is nearly gone. This app incorporates your iPhone’s contact info into your bill tracking, itemizes your expenses, keeps a total balance for each person on your list and reminds you if you’re the one that needs to pay up.
