The calendar may say it’s only spring, but summer is gearing up in Las Vegas. That’s right! The pool clubs are starting to open across the Vegas Strip with the official summer kick off on Memorial Day weekend in May (May 26 – May 29). That means you have a little over two months to get your summer swag ready for a real over-the-top Vegas pool party. Whether you’re spending the day inside an exclusive cabana or sipping a tropical cocktail by the pool, it’s important to remember the DOs and DON’Ts of going to a Dayclub.
1. Do Call It a Dayclub – Don’t Call It a Pool Party
Did you know Las Vegas refined the concept of a pool party to the term Dayclub. Though Las Vegas didn’t originate the concept, they sure did reimagine it into the outside nightclub that is now called a Dayclub. You can thank Sin City for the elaborate private cabanas, pumping EDM, bottle service and of course tiny bikinis in and around the pool.
2. Do Bring Your ID – Don’t Bring an Excuse
As mentioned above, when you’re coming to a Vegas pool party, it’s a Dayclub and that means you need to be 21 and over to attend. Make sure to bring your driver’s license, passport or another form of ID because the guy at the door won’t let you in without it no matter the excuse.
3. Do Wear Wedges or Sandals – Don’t Wear Stilettos or Heels

You might look cute in your heels at the nightclub, but heels or stilettos at the Dayclub will get you into trouble. Just stop and think, water, water everywhere and just the place to slip. It’s best to leave the heels for night shenanigans and put on your best pair of wedges or even better put on your fanciest pair of sandals (that’s right flats!!). Your feet will not only thank you, but you’ll have an easier time jumping in the pool.
4. Do Come Stylish – Don’t Come Uncomfortable

Stylish & comfortable may not always play nice at a nightclub, but that’s the beauty of a Dayclub. At a Vegas pool party, the last thing you want to do is wear a bunch of jewelry and put on an uncomfortable bikini. You want to feel confident and attractive. To do that, you’re going to have to shop just like you do for a dress that you’d wear to the club. So, take the time to go to an Everything But Water or a boutique swimwear store to try on a few, before just taking that old suit out of a spin in Vegas.
Another tip – Don’t just show up in your swimsuit. Do wear a cute cover up or sun dress! Many of the high-end Dayclubs like Marquee and Tao Beach Club require that girls wear a cover up or sun dress to come into and to leave because most times you’re walking through a casino. Follow the dress code!
5. Do Stay Hydrated – Don’t Get Hammered
Do drink water regularly because getting dehydrated can lead to getting heat stroke. The weather in Las Vegas during the summer months can be brutal. In fact, temperatures can reach 106° plus. Make sure with every drink you take; you drink a glass or two of water. If you have big plans for the evening, you may want to hold back on the drinks at the dayclub. The last thing you want to is to get wasted, pass out drunk and miss all the night fun.
6. Do Bring Sunscreen – Don’t Underestimate the Vegas Sun
It’s all fun and game until you are burnt like a lobster and can’t enjoy all the things Vegas has to offer. Make sure to bring sunscreen and apply it regularly. If you forget to bring sunscreen with you, buy it at the dayclub. Our advice is to get at least SPF 30 and remember to bring sunglasses & a wide brim hat.
Another tip – Splurge on a private cabana or day bed. It’ll get you a place to sit or layout with bottle service and if you get a cabana, you’ll have a place to go out of the sun.
